If your like me you don't always have the convenience of a depth/ fish finder. Here is a good rule of thumb to judge any depth your not sure of.
It is very easy to say " O yea its about 6 feet" but is it? I normal throw out my offering and count it down per second 1,2,3 and so on till it hits the bottom. Watch were the line and the water meet for the V to fall back towards you. A good pair of polarized sun glasses come in real handy for this. This is the sure sign your on the bottom.…

There is nothing worse in fishing then pulling up to your favorite spot knowing its gonna be a tough day. The water temps are in the low to mid 40s and the color of chocolate milk because a rainy cold front came through the day before. Here is a tip to beat out a fish or two on days you just cant seem to catch them.

A lot of people say they are having a very difficult time catching fish during the Fall to Winter transition. The Fall bite produces some awesome stringers no doubt about it how ever, it can shut down faster then Enron.
